Unique Crochet Pattern Round up!
“Be yourself, everyone else is already taken”
-Oscar Wilde
In my Instagram stories, I asked my followers to answer what they think is the most unique crochet pattern. Some dropped the pattern name, and some dropped a designer who creates unique patterns. I listed them below and linked the pattern, their Etsy shop, or their Instagram. This list has a great variety of blankets, pillows, loveys, plushies and more.
A comment in my story post was that a pattern is unique when you can spot the designer a mile away. As a pattern designer, finding your own style is very difficult. Crochet stitches are what they are and do have limits on what shapes are possible in the art of crochet. However, with trial and error and lots of TLC, designers can find their own style without taking inspiration from other crocheters.
Save this for later when you need to create something new!
Blankets
Mayzie star blanket @littlemayknots
This blanket is stunning! Make your quilting dreams come true with this sawtooth quilt-inspired blanket pattern. Mix and match colors and styles to create a specialized gift for someone to love and cherish.
Teeny’s Triangles blanket @cc_handmadehugs
This pattern comes in three sizes and with a coloring page to help plan out your color choices! So many color combinations and opportunities to let your personality shine with this gorgeous pattern. Teeny was SO generous and said to use code DEARLITTLEDUDLEY for 15% her shop!
Patterns
Darlin Boot Pillow @dearlittledudley
Some might think this is a shameless plug, but I was honestly so honored to have a few makers vote for my pattern as a unique crochet pattern. Of all my patterns, I am so proud of this boot pillow. Endless customization ideas to create something one-of-a-kind!
Monarch butterfly @sewmuchtocrochet
This design is perfect! The color changes are done well, and can change the yarn weights to create a larger pillow too! Love how the colors are accurate to the Monarch butterfly we all love.
Anchor Octopus and Huge the Whale @Humblechildco
These two patterns are always all over my Instagram feed and I love it! Both are very accurate for the animal and make a statement if you bring them to sell at a market! Ocean lovers will go crazy for these two in the small or large sizes. Get lots of yarn ready for something amazing!
Fira Phoenix and Pico Peacock @Endeemade
Nicole is a true friend of mine and I have made many of her patterns. With each pattern, I learn something new and grow my crochet knowledge. These bird patterns are stunners and so impressive!
Treble Cleft Pillow @hollybeecrochetco
When I started writing this post, this pattern is one that really stood out to me as very unique. The details are perfect and haven’t seen music represented in crochet form like that. Perfect gift for a music teacher or an accent pillow on a piano bench.
Raya sunshine @bluejayehandmade
This ray of sunshine will make anyone smile! Comes in three sizes and has low sewing involved. Britt also has a moon pattern in her shop that would pair so well together! Go check out everything she has in her Etsy shop!
Designers
Crochet by Cate @crochet_by _cate
All these larger plushies needed a spotlight! So many details and options including elephants, rhinos, a moose, and more! I need to add one to my collection soon, but not sure which one to pick first.
Honey do studio @honeydo_studio
This designer is new to me but I can see the creativity shining through in her work. She has some videos on painted safety eyes if want to learn more about that as well! Go give Kati a follow!
Thehappyhomecollective @thehappyhomecollective
I have followed this designer for a while on Instagram and am always amazed by her creations. I love how she combines textures and techniques to create something so beautiful. You can purchase her finished items and also take courses to learn how to recreate her floral squares on her website, so go check out everything she has to offer.
SiaandPen @Siaandpen
So many patterns and so many options! Bitty bundles, fun characters, larger snugglers, lots of creativity from Martikka. I have tested a few of her designs as well and always have a great experience with her and her patterns.
Hope this pattern round-up helped you find some inspiration for your next crochet project! Don’t be afraid to make something new or out of your crochet comfort zone!
